Day 94: Avigliana to Ivrea

Wednesday July 6, 2005, 95 km (59 miles) – Total so far: 5,527 km (3,434 miles)

It was difficult to find quiet roads to ride on today, our map showing what appears to be country lanes lead us down wide truck-filled roads with the occasional prostitute lurking at the side of the carriageway. We did manage a few kilometres of cycle paths through fields of corn (which are now almost fully grown), but for most of the journey we were in fairly heavy traffic.

Ivrea is a large town with a nice old centre. The campsite has shut down so we’re staying in an inexpensive hotel quite near the centre and we’re just about to try our first ever pizza in Italy.

I broke yet another spoke today and we now only have one spare left. We need to find a cycle shop, again.
