Day 91: Briançon

Sunday July 3, 2005, 10 km (6 miles) – Total so far: 5,309 km (3,299 miles)

Briançon is a Ville étape in this year’s Tour de France (a French term for a town hosting stage finish or start) and the caravan arrives in less than two weeks time. The town has laid on a few bicycle sculptures and we saw an artist painting Tour de France murals on a couple of factory walls.

The walled medieval city was very impressive, slightly reminiscent of Bergamo – and we are very close to Italy.
