For our last full day in France Luke, Jered and I took a day ride up to the Alpes-Maritimes north of Nice. We headed out of town to Grasse and followed the Route Napoleon towards Castellane and the Gorges du Verdon.
As the kms ticked away it became apparent that we weren’t going to make it was far as the canyon and get back in time for dinner so we headed east over the Col de Cornille to the busy village of Andon (which was hosting a world cup motorbike trials event). From there we stumbled on the cycle route to be used in tomorrow’s Ironman France and followed this back to Nice. On the Col de Vence we got chased by Percy the Pig, a very wild boar. There are lots of these in France apparently.
Utterly fantastic and inspiring. I am in awe. Bravissimo!
