Day 67: Kitzbühel to Reintaler See

Thursday June 9, 2005, 74 km (46 miles) – Total so far: 4,236 km (2,632 miles)

We got a shock first thing this morning; the awful campsite at Kitzbühel cost us nearly €€30. That’s roughly the price of a hotel in France. Kitzbühel itself was nice enough. We had breakfast on a bench in the town centre, a local policeman came over for a chat – I think he wanted to make sure that we were leaving.

A radweg (cycle path) took us on a 20 km detour down a beautiful but very cold and extremely damp valley so we were a bit short of our target Innsbruck this evening. We’ve rented a mobile home for €€40, it’s brand new and very luxurious with toilet, shower, etc. (The tent is soaked and it’s still raining). The whole campsite is excellent, it has a good shop selling local produce, quite a contrast to Kitzbühel.
