Day 30: Belfort

Tuesday May 3, 2005

It poured with rain all night, so like all hardened cycle tourists, we hid in the tent and decided to take the day off. Anyway, Belfort looks worth exploring, it has an old town centre and as you might expect, a fort. Germany can wait another day for us.

1.30 p.m.- we just saw the weather forecast on the Internet and it looks like we’re going to hit by a succession of storms over the coming week as the weather gets progressively worse. We celebrated the bad news with steak and chips in a rather nice restaurant. It’s raining now and it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing the sun again for a while.

We saw some swans today eating grass, not sure if that’s normal?
