Great scenery along the gorge of the Doubs for our morning ride, then it was onto rolling hills in hellish heat this afternoon. It was a longish day in the saddle by our standards not helped the youth hostel at Belfort looking like it belonged in Beirut, so we’re camping again in a really good municipal site with views of the fort.
We arrived quite late at the campsite so had a mad dash to the local supermarket to pick up something for dinner. The campsite here is run by a nice character with a large friendly Alsatian dog that roams the campsite. We’re now in the Alsace, perhaps Alsatian dogs are from this region?
