Day 176: Benicàssim to València

Monday September 26, 2005, 106 km (66 miles) – Total so far: 10,879 km (6,760 miles)

It should only have been a 70 km ride today, but in an attempt to avoid the trucks we took a number of detours most of which resulted in us getting lost. Our 1:400,000 scale map really isn’t detailed enough for successfully navigating anything other than the main carriageways.
We tried following a few cycle paths through the mandarin plantations, but the signposting was erratic. This is probably the nicest way to get around this area but without a good map it’s too unreliable.

Valencia looks really nice. We’ve checked into a youth hostel where we’re six to a room and Agata is the only girl. It’s €€15.50 each which includes breakfast.
