We got up late, ate an unhealthy breakfast of fried bacon pieces and scrambled eggs, then headed for the beach. We managed a short swim in the sea and read a copy of The Times in glorious sunshine. Then the rain came. Just a shower or two from another localised storm, but enough to send everybody running for cover. We had a coffee in a nice beach bar and then headed into Valras to see the town.
The season is pretty much over here and some of the shops have closed already. Most of the remaining tourists seem to be retired people. Valras is your typical seaside town and will soon be dead as a doornail until the sun returns next April. I think the summer season lasts a little longer in Spain, at least we hope so.
