Saturday September 10, 2005, 98 km (61 miles) – Total so far: 9,814 km (6,098 miles)
We woke to the sound of rain, rain that was to be with us pretty much all day. After our breakfast of Yop drinking yoghurt from a Casino supermarket, we followed the Tarn south from Millau and passed under the famous viaduct. It’s the highest bridge in the world and is absolutely massive, I’m certain my photos just won’t convey the sheer size of the thing. Amazing.
I spent most of today in pain having picked up a back injury getting out of bed this morning, but that and the rain didn’t stop my enjoyment completely. There were some nice villages, forests and hills on our way down to Truscas.
Truscas is a very small village and our tiny hotel is pretty much just someone’s house. It’s actually quite a nice old building, I think we’re the only guests and I’m expecting the food to be good.
