Day 156: Storms in Vallon-Pont-d’Arc

Tuesday September 6, 2005

There were massive thunderstorms for most of the night with plenty of rain, it was generally very grim. I don’t think either of us fancied packing up a wet tent and going cycling in a storm so we’re having an extra rest day.

We walked down to Vallon in the rain stopping at the Pont d’Arc for a photo. We enjoyed a bargain lunch. €€6.50 for 3 courses consisting of salad, chicken and chips and a dessert (I had ice cream, Agata had cheese).

Right now I’m sitting drinking tea in a bar called Le Verger as it continues to pour down outside. We need to visit the post office, a pharmacy and a supermarket before we head back to what is certain to be a very damp campsite. Hopefully, the weather will improve tomorrow.
