It cost us €22 for a 20-minute ferry ride to the island of Capri. We walked around the port for a while and then took the funicular railway to Capri town which had narrow walkways lined with shops. Agata is convinced that she spotted Peter Mandelson, European Commissioner for Trade and personal friend of Tony Blair, maybe he’s here on holiday?
Later in the day we rented a small boat for our own private cruise around the island, the sea was extremely choppy and we dared not take the boat into the caves. We managed half way around the island before unfortunately Agata felt seasick and so returned the boat. It cost us €80 for two hours but was great fun, it would have been even better had the sea been less rough.
We picked up the spare sections of tent poles sent over from Sweden by Hilleberg, a great service and for free too.
