Day 114: San Marino to Casteldimezzo

Tuesday July 26, 2005, 55 km (34 miles) – Total so far: 6,832 km (4,245 miles)

It was a fantastic hilly ride back down to the coast, we had a little rain early on as a storm passed us by but it was mostly scorching sunshine today. Lunch was canned tuna in olive oil in sweet bread rolls, which is actually very tasty.

Casteldimezzo is high on the cliff-tops in the Monte San Bartolo nature park; we have some amazing views over the Adriatic. Our campsite is poorly equipped and a rip-off at €€23.50 but it’s in such a great location that we don’t really care.

The further south we go, the weirder the bugs become; today I saw an inch long ant with a giant tail and wings.
