Day 108: Venice to Comacchio

Wednesday July 20, 2005, 122 km (76 miles) – Total so far: 6,605 km (4,104 miles)

We had a long flat ride down the coast, crossing the Adige and Po rivers on our way to Comacchio. We are staying in ‘I Tre Moschettieri’ a campsite named after the famous Three Musketeers. The Musketeers here don’t guard the French queen, instead they are gainfully employed robbing tourists of their cash. Everything costs lots of money here, the campsite itself isn’t cheap, but they charge extra for the pool and mega-bucks for a chair on the beach (€€10 if you want an umbrella). However, it is a lovely site with huge pitches so we’ve booked in for four nights – a post Alps holiday.
