Day 105: Verona

Sunday July 17, 2005

We managed to get what is probably the best pitch on the campsite so have decided to stay for two days. Verona deserves closer inspection, especially as we’ve been here before and saw virtually nothing of the city.

We had a nice lunch and a glass of Soave after a long walk around the city, but had a very hot and sweaty trudge back to the campsite for a lazy afternoon. It really is too hot to do anything at the moment. It will be nice to be back on the move again tomorrow with the wind in our faces.

We’ve seen many more cycle tourists around since leaving the mountains and there are quite a few at our campsite. We even saw a couple in Verona touring with their dogs.
